All public Notifications which appear in this Gazette, with any Official Signature thereunto annexed, are to be considered as Official Communications made to those persons to whom they relate, and are to be obeyed accordingly.

PROCLAMATION.

By DONALD M'LEAN, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Hawke's Bay, in the Islands of New Zealand.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled "The Provincial Reserved Bills Act, 1858," it is provided that no Bill reserved for the signification of the Governor's pleasure shall have any force within the Province until the Superintendent shall signify, as therein specified, that it has been laid before the Governor, and that His Excellency has assented to the same :

And whereas an Act intituled "Amendment of Loan Act" was passed by the Provincial Council of Hawke's Bay during the late session, but reserved by me for the signification of the Governor's pleasure,—

Now, therefore, I, Donald M'Lean, do hereby Proclaim and Notify that the above mentioned Act has been duly laid before His Excellency the Governor, and having received his assent, is, under the provisions of the Act of the General Assembly before referred to, in force within the Province of Hawke's Bay, from the date of this Proclamation.

WHEREAS the Assembly of the General Government has provided that the Commissioner of Crown Lands shall hereby Proclaim and Notify that at Noon on Thursday, the 14th day of April next, the Commissioner of Crown Lands will offer to public competition, under the provisions of the Land Regulations now in force in this Province,—Rural Sections at Wainui, that are referred to in the Schedule hereunto annexed, and at the upset price mentioned therein.

Dated at Napier, this twelfth day of February, in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four.

LAWRENCE DUNNE

has been appointed Turnkey to the Napier Gaol, in place of Mr. T. Neagle resigned. Appointment to take effect from this date.
