be within the proclaimed District; and the Superintendent may also from time to time by Proclamation as aforesaid rescind any Proclamation of an infected District wholly or as to any part thereof, and also the Proclamation of any such exception as aforesaid.

  1. In the exercise of powers delegated under the 10th Section of the Act, the Superintendent of any Province may prohibit the importation, either by land or by sea, of Cattle into such Province from any other Province, or any particular Port or place in any other Province, or across the borders of a Province, or any particular part thereof.

  2. In all such last-mentioned cases, such Superintendent shall cause notice as speedily as possible of such prohibition to be given to the Superintendent of the Province from which importation shall be prohibited, and also to the Governor.

  3. The Superintendent of any Province may in his discretion, suspend or forbear to exercise all or any of the powers delegated to him under the said Act.

  4. The Superintendent of each Province shall as soon as can be after the commencement of each sitting of the Provincial Council of such Province, lay before such Council copies and particulars of all appointments, regulations, acts, and proceedings whatever, issued, made, or done by him under the delegated powers of the said Act.

  5. If the Provincial Council of any Province shall by resolution declare their dissent from all or any of such appointments, regulations, acts, and proceedings, such resolutions shall be forthwith transmitted by the Speaker to the Governor for his consideration.

PROCLAMATION.

By DONALD M’LEAN, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, in the Islands of New Zealand.

DONALD M’LEAN, Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, Do hereby Proclaim and Notify that at noon on TUESDAY, the 15th day of March next, the Commissioner of Crown Lands will offer to public competition under the provisions of the Land Regulations now in force in this Province—Section in Reserve in the North Porangahau Block, as described in the Schedule hereunto annexed and at the upset price of Ten Shillings per acre.

Dated at Napier, this 1st day of February, in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four.

SCHEDULE.

Area—86 acres in the North Porangahau Block, at the upset price of 10s. per acre.

Bounded towards the North-east and South-west by J. Tanner’s Freehold, and towards the North-west and South-east by the Tauraekaetai Stream.

DONALD M’LEAN, Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, Do hereby Proclaim and Notify that the Lands described in the annexed Schedule will be open for public selection under the Regulations of the 4th day of March, 1853, and the additional Land Regulations of the 15th February, 1855, at the Land Office, Napier, on and after TUESDAY, the 15th day of March, 1864.

Dated this first day of February, in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four.

SCHEDULE.

Area—275 acres at Pourerere, in the Hapuku Block.

Bounded towards the North by T. H. Northwood’s Freehold and the Pourerere Stream; towards the East by the Pourerere Stream and a Government Reserve; towards the South by a Government Reserve and the Freehold of T. H. Northwood, including a Block of 84 acres—the Homestead of T. H. Northwood.

N.B.—The value of the Improvements on the land occupied by Mr. Northwood to be added to the upset price on the day of selection.
