(PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY.)
All public Notifications which appear in this Gazette, with any Official Signature thereunto annexed,

DONALD M’LEAN,
Superintendent.
Vol. V. MONDAY, MAY 23, 1864. No. 10.
Crown Land Office,
Napier, 27th April, 1864.
IT IS HEREBY NOTIFIED for general information that it
will be necessary in future, in all cases where two or more persons
are joint Applicants for Land in this Province, to insert on their
Applications the nature of the “Tenancy” to be created on the
execution of the Crown Grant, that is, whether they wish to hold
as “Tenants in common” or as “Joint Tenants.” Also, that in
the future preparation of Grants for Land already applied for, the
words “as Tenants in common, and not as joint Tenants” will be
inserted therein, unless a request to the contrary is made in writing
to the Commissioner before the Grants are prepared.
J. C. LAMBTON CARTER,
Commissioner of Crown Lands.
