PROCLAMATION.

By DONALD M’LEAN, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, in the Islands of New Zealand.

I, DONALD M’LEAN, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay aforesaid, Do Hereby Proclaim and Notify that the Land described in the annexed Schedule is reserved from Public Sale for the purpose of Military Settlements, under the additional Land Regulations of the Province of Wellington, of the 15th February, 1855, from the day of the date hereof.

Dated this fourteenth day of January, in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and sixty-four.

SCHEDULE,

PROVINCE OF HAWKE’S BAY,

AHURIRI BLOCK,

Estimated area, about 4000 acres.

Commencing at the Patoka Trigonometrical Station, from thence in a due West direction to the South-eastern boundary of the Puketitiri reserve, following the Eastern boundary of the said reserve to its North-eastern extremity—thence proceeding South-east to the North-east point of the Waipuna Bush Reserve, along its Eastern boundary to the Waipuna Creek, following that creek down to the Pukiaka reserve—thence along the Southern boundary of that reserve to the Mangirangiora stream, and thence up that stream to its source and thence in a straight line South to the Patoka Trigonometrical Station—excluding applications Nos. 456, 1,273, 1,300, and 1,389, within the above boundaries.

IT IS HEREBY NOTIFIED for general information that a Writ for the election of a member to serve in the Provincial Council of Hawke’s Bay for the Town of Napier, having been issued in accordance with clause 12 of “An Act to grant a representative constitution to the Colony of New Zealand,” the Returning Officer has returned the said Writ with a certificate that the undermentioned gentleman has been duly elected to serve as a member of the said Provincial Council for the said Town of Napier,—

NAPIER, PROVINCE OF HAWKE’S BAY.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Circuit Sittings of the Supreme Court for the despatch of Civil and Criminal business, will be held at the Court-house, Napier, on MONDAY, the first day of February, 1864, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon, at which time all persons under cognizance as Prosecutors, Defendants, or Witnesses are required to give their attendance.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Minor Sittings under the Provisions of the “Supreme Court Amendment Act 1862” will be held at the Court-house, Napier, within the Judicial Middle District of New Zealand, before His Honor Alexander James Johnston, Judge of the Supreme Court, to whom has been assigned the Judicial Middle District, on THURSDAY, the 4th day of February, 1864, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Sitting under the Provisions of the “Supreme Court Amendment Act 1862” for the despatch of all business accruing under the provisions of the above Act will be held at the Court-house, Napier, within the Judicial Middle District of New Zealand, before His Honor Alexander James Johnston, Judge of the Supreme Court, to whom has been assigned the Judicial Middle District, on FRIDAY, the 5th day of February, 1864, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon.
