Napier, September 29, 1863.

BY virtue and in exercise of the power and authority for this purpose vested in me, I, George Stoddart Whitmore, Major, the Officer Commanding in the Napier Militia District, do hereby fix and appoint the

times and places hereunder written to be the meeting of the Militia for any District for times and places for the training and exercise which the Militia of the Napier district shall be called out for training and exercise:

WHEREAS it is provided by the “Militia Acts Amendment Act, 1862,” that the number of days and hours for the meeting of the Militia for any District for training and exercise shall be from time to time fixed by the Governor;

And whereas certain portions of the Militia of the Militia District of Napier have been called out for training and exercise;

Now, therefore, in pursuance and execution of the power and authority conferred upon me by the said recited Act, I do hereby fix the number of days and hours during which the Militia of the Napier District shall be trained and exercised within the limits of the Township of Napier:

TIME. PLACE.
Saturday, the 3rd of October instant, at 3 o’clock p.m., and on such one day in each succeeding week as the Commanding Officer may hand at the recommendation of Captains of Companies, for fourteen days from the date hereof at two hours a day. The usual Parade Ground.

Given under my hand at the Government House at Auckland this twenty-sixth day of September, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-three.
