course of the Manga Mahaki stream to its junction with the Waiwero; thence in a straight line to Pukekura hill, thence in a northerly direction to the point at which the Southern boundary line of the Hapuku block is intersected by the Puangiangi stream; thence by a line drawn due west to the Western boundary of the Province; thence by the Western boundary of the Province to the source of the Tuki-tuki river, and thence by the Tuki-tuki river to its junction with the Manga Mahaki stream.
Two-thirds of the first and second classes of the Napier Regiment of Militia who are resident within the limits of those portions of the District proclaimed in the General Government Gazette of Thursday, 23rd July, 1863, as constituted Company No. 7 of the Napier Regiment of Militia, contained within the boundaries hereinafter described, viz.:
Commencing at the Southern boundary of the Province at Waimata, thence by the Sea Coast to Aretaura, the North-east point of the block of land known as the Tautane block; thence by the Northern boundary line of the Tautane block to a distance of six miles from the Sea Coast, and thence by a straight line in a Southerly direction to Waimata.
Two-thirds of the men of the first and second classes of the Napier Regiment of Militia who are resident within the limits of those portions of the District, as constituted Company No. 5 contained within the following boundaries, viz.:
Commencing at Waimarama, from thence to the mouth of the Pukipuki, thence following the Ngaruroro to the Western boundary of the Province; thence proceeding southerly along the boundary of the Province to Pohatuhaba; thence to the south point of the Kereru Block; thence in a straight line to Patangata; thence following the Tuki-tuki river southward to the northern point of the Tamumu Reserve; thence in a straight line to Mangakuri, and from thence by the sea coast to Waimarama.
and I hereby authorise and request George Stoddart Whitmore, Major, the Officer Commanding the said District to carry into effect this direction.

BY virtue and in exercise of the power and authority for this purpose vested in me, I, George Stoddart Whitmore, Major, the officer commanding in the Napier Militia District, do hereby fix and appoint the times and places hereunder written to be the times and places for the training and exercise of such of the men of the first and second classes of such of the Napier Regiment of Militia as may be chosen by ballot, being two-thirds of the men of the first and second classes, who are resident within that portion of the District assigned to Company No. 7, the boundaries of which are described in the Hawke’s Bay Provincial Gazette of this day’s date.
For the Waipukurau and Ruataniwha Division.
