IT IS HEREBY notified for general information that Monday and Tuesday, the 3rd and 4th November, will be observed as PUBLIC HOLIDAYS in celebration of the Anniversary of the formation of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, instead of the 1st and 2nd.

Superintendent’s Office,
of Hawke’s Bay, in virtue of a Warrant dated the 26th day of August, 1861, under the hand of His Excellency the Governor, delegating to me the power of appointing and removing Returning Officers and also of appointing and establishing Polling Places for the election of members of the Provincial Council of Hawke’s Bay, do hereby in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by the said Warrant appoint the following person to be Returning Officer for the Electoral District set opposite his name.
