other Province, or any particular Port or
Place in any other Province, or across the
borders of a Province, or any particular
part thereof.

  1. In all such last-mentioned cases,
    such Superintendent shall cause notice as
    speedily as possible of such prohibition to
    be given to the Superintendent of the
    Province from which importation shall be
    prohibited, and also to the Governor.

  2. The Superintendent of any Province
    may, in his discretion, suspend or forbear
    to exercise all or any of the powers dele-
    gated to him under the said Act.

  3. The Superintendent of each Pro-
    vince shall, as soon as can be after the
    commencement of each sitting of the Pro-
    vincial Council of such Province, lay be-
    fore such Council copies and particulars
    of all appointments, regulations, acts, and
    proceedings whatever, issued, made, or
    done by him under the delegated powers
    of the said Act.

  4. If the Provincial Council of any
    Province shall by resolution declare their
    dissent from all or any of such appoint-
    ments, regulations, acts, and proceedings,
    such resolution shall be forthwith trans-
    mitted by the Speaker to the Governor
    for his consideration.

I, JOHN CHILTON LAMBTON
CARTER, Superintendent of the
Province of Hawke's Bay, in virtue of
a Warrant dated the 26th day of Au-
gust, 1861, under the hand of His Ex-
cellency the Governor, delegating to me
the power of appointing and removing
Returning Officers, and also of appoint-
ing and establishing Polling Places for
the election of members of the Provin-
cial Council of Hawke's Bay,β€”Do
Hereby, in pursuance of the power and
authority vested in me by the said
Warrant, appoint the following person
to be Returning Officer for the Elec-
toral District of Te Aute :β€”
