GENERAL AUTHORITY
TO INSTITUTE PROCEEDINGS UNDER THE
"ARMS ACT, 1860."

the most honorable order of the
Bath, Governor and Comman-
der-in-Chief in and over Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zea-
land and its Dependencies, and
Vice-Admiral of the same, &c.
IN pursuance of the power vested in
me under the "Arms Act, 1860,"
I, Thomas Gore Browne, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby appoint Charles William Ren-
nell La Serre, Chief Officer of the
Police in the Province of Hawke's Bay,
to be a person by whom, and at whose
instance, Indictments and Informations
shall be preferred or proceedings insti-
tuted against any person for any offence
by the said Act declared to be a felony
or misdemeanor.

PURSUANT to the rule of this
Honorable Court the creditors of
the above named intestate are, on or
before the 6th day of December next,
to come in and prove their debts before
Robert Rodger Strang, Esq., Registrar
of the said Court, at his office in the
Court-house, Wellington, or in default
thereof they will be peremptorily ex-
cluded from all benefit arising from the
said estate.

PROCLAMATION.

By John Chilton Lambton Carter, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province of Hawke's
Bay in the Islands of New Zealand.

I, JOHN CHILTON LAMBTON CARTER,
Superintendent of the Province of Hawke's
Bay, do hereby proclaim that a sale of Crown
Lands will take place at the Crown Lands Office
Napier, on SATURDAY, 30TH NOVEMBER, at
Noon precisely, when the Allotments of Land spe-
cified in the Schedule hereunto annexed, and which
have been duly certified by the Commissioner of
Crown Lands, on the application of intending
purchasers, as being unavailable for agricultural
purposes, will be put up to Public Auction at the
upset price of 5s. per acre, in accordance with the
Land Regulations of the 4th March, 1853, and the
additional Regulations for the amendment and
extension of the said Regulations, recommended
by the Superintendent and the Council for the
Province of Wellington (Session 2) to the Gover-
nor.

Dated this third day of October, in the
year of our Lord One thousand eight
hundred and sixty-one.
