PROCLAMATION.
By JOHN CHILTON LAMBTON CARTER, Esq., Superintendent of
the Province of Hawke\'s Bay
in the Islands of New Zealand.
WHEREAS, by an Act of the General Assembly, of New Zealand
intituled "The Provincial Reserved
Bills Act, 1858," it is provided that no
bill reserved for the signification of the
Governor\'s pleasure shall have any
force within the Province until the
Superintendent shall signify as therein
specified, that it has been laid before
the Governor and that His Excellency
has assented to the same. And whereas
an Act intituled "An Act to enlarge
the Electoral Districts of the Province of
Hawke\'s Bay," was passed by the Pro-
vincial Council of Hawke\'s Bay during
the last session, but reserved by me
for the signification of the Governor\'s
pleasure.
Now therefore I, John Chilton
Lambton Carter, do hereby proclaim
and notify that the above mentioned
Act has been duly laid before His Ex-
cellency the Governor, and having re-
ceived his assent, is, under the provisions
of the Act of the General Assembly
before referred to, and the 7th clause
of the Provincial Council Enlargement
Act of the Province of Hawke\'s Bay,
Session 3, No. 1, to be in force within the
Province of Hawke\'s Bay on and
after the 15th day of October, 1861.

"An Act to enable the Superintendent
to Manage and Administer certain
Reserves by granting Leases thereof,"
"An Act to enable the Superintendent
of the Province of Hawke\'s Bay to
Manage and Administer by Sale or
Lease certain Public Reserves," and,
"An Act to Appropriate the Revenue
of the Province of Hawke\'s Bay for the
year commencing 1st day of January,
1861, and ending the 31st day of De-
cember, 1861,"-were passed by the
Provincial Council of Hawke\'s Bay
during the late session, but reserved
by me for the signification of the Go-
vernor\'s pleasure.
Now, therefore, I, John Chilton
Lambton Carter, do hereby proclaim
and notify that the above mentioned
Acts have been duly laid before His
Excellency the Governor, and having
received his assent, are, under the pro-
visions of the Act of the General As-
sembly before referred to, in force
within the Province of Hawke\'s Bay
from the date of this proclamation.
