To the Chiefs and Peoples of Ahuriri, of Heretaunga, of the Wairoa, of Table Cape, of inland and of the coast, of everywhere (besides) throughout (the Province),—Sirs, friends, to you is this statement.
SIRS, Friends, greeting to you. Here am I dwelling, with love and with salutation towards you.
No Nepia, no te whare tuhituhi o te Huparitenete, no te 26 o nga ra o Hune, 1861, i tuhia atu ai.
Ki nga Rangatira, ki nga Iwi, o Ahuriri, o Heretaunga, o Te Wairoa, o Te Mahia, o uta, o te takutai, o hea, o hea, puta noa. E koro ma, e hoa ma, ki a koutou katoa tenei kupu.
E KORO ma, e ta ma,—Tena ra ko koutou. Tenei au te noho nei, me te aroha me te tangi atu ki a koutou.
