PROCLAMATION.

By JOHN CHILTON LAMBTON
CARTER, Esquire, Superinten-

Bay, in the Colony of New
Zealand.

WHEREAS His Excellency the
Governor of New Zealand did,
by an instrument under his hand,
sealed with the Public Seal of the
Colony, and dated the 14th day of
May, 1861, delegate to me, the said
said John Chilton Lambton Carter,
certain powers vested in him, the said
Governor, by an Act of the General
Assembly of New Zealand, intituled
"The Waste Lands Act, 1858."

And whereas Thomas Henry Fitz-
gerald, Esquire, late Superintendent

the 5th day of March, 1861, declare
and appoint that, on and after the 1st
day of April now last past, the admin-
istration of the Waste Lands of the
Crown in the said Province of Hawke's
Bay should cease to be vested in the
Commissioner of Crown Lands, and
should from that time forward be ves-
ted in a Board of not less than five
Commissioners.

And whereas it is expedient that the
Proclamation last recited should be
revoked, and the appointment of the
Board of Commissioners thereby con-
stituted should be annulled, and that
the management and administration of
the Waste Lands of the Crown in the
Province of Hawke's Bay should vest
in Henry Stokes Tiffen, Esquire,
Crown Land Commissioner.

Now therefore, I, the said John
Chilton Lambton Carter; under and
by virtue of the powers expressed in
the 3rd clause of the Waste Lands
Act, 1858, and delegated to me, and
of all other powers vested in me by
the instrument of delegation hereinbe-
fore recited, do hereby revoke the said
Proclamation dated the 5th day of
March, 1861, and do hereby annul
and make void the appointment of the
Board of Commissioners constituted by
the said Proclamation, and the appoint-
ment of all officers made thereunder;
and do further declare and appoint that
the management and administration of
the Waste Lands of the Crown and
the Survey thereof, in the Province of
Hawke's Bay, shall vest in the said
Henry Stokes Tiffen, Esquire, Com-
missioner of Crown Lands, subject to
the several Acts, Ordinances, and
Regulations now in force respecting
the same.

Dated at Napier, this 20th day of
June, in the year of our Lord
