April 23, 1861.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that all Salaries due from the Provincial Government of Hawke\'s Bay will be payable at the Provincial Treasury on the 3rd of each month: provided the proper Vouchers are duly forwarded to the Treasury on or before the 1st day of the month. And all other just and proper charges or demands (whether Contingent Expenses, or Contracts, or advances on account of Contracts,) will be payable at the Treasury on and from the 8th day of each month until the 22nd day of the same month: provided always the Vouchers supported by the proper Authorities shall have been duly sent in to the Treasury on or before the 6th day of every month. As a Rule no Moneys (whether as Imprest Warrants or otherwise) will henceforth be paid at the Treasury after the 22nd day of the month.
In those months in which Sunday falls on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd day of the month, salaries will not be payable before the 4th of the said month.
Strict attention to this notice is requested, particularly from Government Officers and Contractors, as (the time for forwarding accounts having been lengthened) the Rule here laid down will be closely adhered to.
