the said Colony, do hereby delegate to
Thomas Henry FitzGerald, Esquire,
the Superintendent of the Province of
Hawke\'s Bay in the said Colony, all
the powers and authorities vested in me
by the said Act, so far as the same are
above recited without any limitation or
restriction soever.
In witness whereof I have hereunto
set my hand and caused the
seal of the Colony to be affix-
ed, this twenty-third day of
November, one thousand

PROCLAMATION.

By THOMAS HENRY FITZGERALD,
Esquire, Superintendent of the
Province of Hawke\'s Bay in the
Colony of New Zealand.

WHEREAS it is expedient that the
management and administration
of the Waste Lands of the Crown
within the Province of Hawke\'s Bay,
hitherto under the control and direction
of the Commissioner of Crown Lands
only, should in future be vested in a
Board of Commissioners composed of
persons to be styled Commissioners of
the Waste Lands Board of the Province
of Hawke\'s Bay. And whereas the
exercise of all the powers given to the
Governor by clause 3 of the Waste
Lands Act of 1858, was by him dele-
gated to me under the public seal of the
Colony on the 23rd day of Nov., 1860,
without any limitation or restriction
whatsoever.

Now therefore, I, THOMAS HENRY
FitzGerald do hereby declare and ap-
point that on and after the 1st day of
the ensuing month of April the admin-
istration of the Waste Lands of the
Crown in this Province shall cease
to be vested in the Commissioner of
Crown Lands, and shall from that time
forward be vested in a Board of not
less than five Commissioners, of whom
one shall be called the Chief Commis-
sioner, and who shall, acting with the
approval of the majority of the mem-
bers of the Board, conduct all the ordi-
nary business of the Land Office as the
Commissioner of Crown Lands does at
present. And I do further appoint
that another member of the Board shall
act as Secretary to the Waste Lands
Board and keep an official record of its
proceedings, conduct its correspondence
&c.; and that any three members of
the Board provided they include either
the Chief Commissioner or Secretary,
shall form a quorum for the dispatch of
business.

March, in the year of our Lord
One thousand eight hundred and
sixty one.

IT is Hereby Notified for general in-
formation that, acting on the power
given to His Excellency the Gover-
nor, by Clause 3 of the "Waste Lands
Act, 1858," and by him delegated to
me, under the Public Seal of the Co-
lony, on the 23rd day of November,
1860,β€”I have appointed the following
gentlemen as members of the Waste
Lands Board of the Province of
Hawke\'s Bay:

HENRY STOKES TIFFEN, Esq., to
be Chief Commissioner of the Waste
Lands Board;
HENRY BOWMAN SEALY, Esq., to be
a Commissioner and Secretary to the
Board;
JOHN CHAMBERS, Esq., JOSEPH
RHODES, Esq., THOMAS DAWSON
TRIPHOOK, Esq., to be Commis-
sioners.
