Napier, 4th May, 1859.

IT IS HEREBY notified for general information, that a writ for the election of one Member to serve in the Provincial Council of Hawke's Bay for the Town of Napier, having been issued in accordance with clause 12 of "An Act to grant a Representative Constitution to the Colony of New Zealand," the Returning Officer has returned the said Writ, with a certificate that the undermentioned gentleman has been duly elected to serve as a Member of the said Provincial Council for the said Town of Napier.

Napier, May 13, 1859.

TENDERS will be received at the Land Office, Napier, up to SATURDAY, the 21st of MAY, at noon, for METALLING the SHAKESPEARE ROAD, according to the terms of the Specification to be seen at that Office.

Tenders to be marked on cover,--"Tenders for Metalling Shakespeare Road."

Parties may propose for the whole, or any portion not less than ten chains in length; and if they propose for a part they must state in their Tenders what part.

Napier, 13th May, 1859

TENDERS will be received at the Land Office, Napier, up to noon of Saturday, the 28th May, for FORMING and METALLING that portion of the TE AUTE ROAD passing through Te Aute bush; and marked by numbered pegs from 1 to 50,--according to the Section and Specification to be seen at that office, after Monday, the 16th May.

Tenders to be addressed on cover,--"Tenders for Forming and Metalling Te Aute Road."
