TO MR. J. HODGSON,
LATE OF DUVAUCHELLE’S BAY.
TAKE NOTICE, that I desire a boundary fence dividing our freehold lands along the southern boundary of your Section 20410, commencing at the eastern corner, running a distance of about forty-five chains westward, be made immediately; and that such fence shall be erected with two sods in height, iron standards twelve feet apart, five wires and binders where required, and running posts every two chains. In case sods cannot be cut, a legal wire fence, Schedule B, to be substituted in lieu thereof.

NOTICE OF DIVERSION OF ROAD
UNDER "THE HIGHWAY BOARDS EMPOWERING ACT, 1871."
NOTICE is hereby given that the Springs Road Board propose, under Part VII of "The Highway Boards Empowering Act, 1871," to take and use all that piece or parcel of land, containing by admeasurement three roods and six perches (0a 3r 6p), more or less, being part of rural section No. 4211, as marked on the map of the Chief Surveyor of the Province of Canterbury, commencing at a point on the western boundary of section, and on the eastern side of road known as Gould’s Road, 1110 links distant from and south of the angle in the road nearest to the River Selwyn; thence at an angle of 40° in a south-easterly direction a distance of 502 links to the edge of terrace of river; thence along top of terrace in a south-westerly and westerly direction along the broken and irregular line of terrace and river bank a distance of about 343 links to Gould’s Road at the intersection of the eastern boundary of road and the north-east bank of river; and thence along the aforesaid western boundary of section and eastern side of Gould’s Road, in a northerly direction, a distance of 409 links, to the starting point, for the purpose of constructing and maintaining a public road one chain wide, to connect Gould’s Road with the Selwyn river ford, which is situated about two chains south-east of Gould’s Road, in accordance with plans and specifications now deposited at Messrs. Howard and Dartnell’s store, Springston, for inspection; and all affected by the proposed work or undertaking are hereby called upon to set forth in writing, addressed to the said Board, within forty days from the publication of this notice in the Government Gazette of the Province of Canterbury, all objections they may have to the said work or undertaking.
