His Honor the Superintendent directs the publication of the following Report of the Half-yearly Examination of Candidates for Third-class Certificates, and for Classification as Assistant Teachers.

To THE MINISTER FOR EDUCATION.
Sir,
We have the honour to report that we have held the Half-yearly Examination of Candidates for Third-class Certificates, and for Classification as Assistant Teachers. Of the sixteen candidates whose names are contained in the list supplied to us from your office, five failed to present themselves, viz.:—Mr. J. C. Hoggan, Mr. and Miss McCallum, and Mr. and Miss Pincott. Miss N. Fee, and Mr. Peter Couch, although their names were not upon the list, were allowed to sit.
The following are the names of those who have passed, with the positions we recommend should be assigned to them.
Class III.
First Division—Mr. J. Blythen, Mr. J. Piper, Mrs. Soulby.
Second Division—Miss K. J. Kesteven, Miss A. Mackett, Mr. G. Silvester.
Assistants.
First Class—Miss F. Dunnage, Miss N. Fee, Mr. J. McCabe.
