TO MR. J. HODGSON,

LATE OF DUVAUCHELLE’S BAY.

TAKE NOTICE, that I desire boundary fences dividing our freehold lands, along the western boundary of your Sections Nos. 20408 and 20411, for a distance of about sixty chains; also, along the southern boundary of your Section No. 20410, commencing at the south-west corner, running a distance of about twenty-five chains westward, be made immediately, and that such fences shall be sod walls, thirty-four inches high, five stakes to the chain, straining and running posts where required, with two No. 9 wires, properly strained.

“THE PROTECTION OF ANIMALS ACT, 1873.”

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has, in pursuance of the powers delegated to him under “The Protection of Animals Act, 1873,” appointed the following persons to act as Rangers within the Province of Canterbury:—

Alfred White, Glentui, Ashley
William Parkinson, Leithfield
Thomas Ottery Rayner, Temuka
James Guild, Flaxton.

VIEW HILL EDUCATIONAL DISTRICT.

Commencing at Trig pole No. 26 and proceeding westerly in a straight line to the south-east corner of Section No. 20798; thence along the southern boundary of that section to its south-west corner; thence along the road forming the southern boundary of that section to its south-west corner; thence along the road forming the southern boundary of Section 18243 to the road forming the eastern boundary of Section 19705; thence along that road to the road forming the western boundary of Section 19403; thence along that road and the eastern boundaries of Section 19963 and 19665, to the north-west corner of Section 20095; thence northerly in a straight line to the north-west corner of Section 20763; thence easterly in a straight line to the northern corner of Section 17315; thence along its northern boundary to its north-east corner; thence in a straight line to the north-west corner of the West Oxford Educational District; and thence along the western boundary of that district to the starting point.

Given under my hand, at Christchurch, this 10th day of July, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs the following Regulations, adopted by the Committee of the Philadelphia Exhibition, to be published for general information.

PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Canterbury, intituled “The Education Ordinance, 1875,” it is among other things provided that the Superintendent may, under the provisions of Section 16 of the said Ordinance, declare any portion of the province, not comprised within the limits of any Educational District, to be an Educational District:

Now, therefore, I, William Rolleston, Superintendent of the said province, in pursuance of the powers vested in me, do hereby, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, declare the portion of the province hereinafter described to be an Educational District, with the boundaries as hereinafter set forth:


The quantities of Exhibits to be as follows:

  • Wool ... 60 lbs.
  • Grain ... ½ bushel
  • Coal ... 50 lbs.
  • Flax ... 50 lbs.

Articles not above enumerated, at the discretion of the Sub-Committees.

All exhibits to be forwarded to the Secretary on or before 1st December next. Any necessary extension of time to be applied for through the Secretary.

Intending exhibitors to intimate to the Secretary, on or before the 31st October next, the class of their exhibits, and other particulars.
