HIS Honor the Superintendent directs the publication of the following Amended Regulations, which were adopted by the Board of Education at a meeting held on May 31, 1875.

BOARD OF EDUCATION.
REGULATIONS FOR THE EXAMINATION AND CLASSIFICATION OF SCHOOL TEACHERS.

No Teacher shall be appointed to the permanent charge of a school unless the holder of a certificate of fitness granted under the regulations prescribed by the Board.

There shall be three classes of certificates, with three divisions in each class. The first and second classes to be attained only upon examination by the Board of Examiners; the third class may be granted by the Inspector of Schools, or a Special Examiner.

Examinations shall be held by the Inspector of Schools at such times and places as may be expedient (of which due notice shall be given), when all candidates who pass in the subjects required under the 5th Regulation shall be entitled to a certificate of the third class.
