PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the owners and occupiers of land and householders in the Educational District of Selwyn have failed within the time limited for that purpose by the Board of Education to contribute and pay to the Provincial Treasurer the amount fixed by the Board as the contribution of the said district for school purposes :

Now, therefore, I, WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance of the powers vested in me, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, do hereby declare an uniform rate of fivepence in the £ to be leviable within the said district under the provisions of the 42nd section of "The Education Ordinance, 1873," and I do hereby appoint

as the person to whom the said rate shall be paid.

Given under my hand at Christchurch, this 19th day of November, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has made the following Reserves temporarily under the 19th clause of the Waste Lands Regulations, viz. :—

No. 1815 (in red). Two hundred and twenty-six acres, more or less, situate in the Waitangi District, bounded on the northward by I.P.R.A. on Run 648 ; on the southward by Reserve 1644 (in red) ; on the eastward by Reserve for Railway Line 1316 (in red) ; and on the westward by a line drawn parallel to eastern boundary, and 15 chains distant therefrom. Save and except portion of section No. 22267, which is included within the above described boundaries—Subject to roads. For Provincial Government purposes.

No. 1816 (in red). Four hundred and forty acres, more or less, situate in the Waitangi District; bounded on the northward by section 18233, on the southward by Reserve 1644 (in red), on the westward by Reserve for railway line 1316 (in red), and on the eastward by a line drawn parallel to western boundary, and 15 chains distant therefrom. Save and except portions of I.P.R.'s A' and B' on Run 648, and also section No. 22268, which are included within the above-described boundaries—subject to roads. For Provincial Government purposes.

No. 1832 (in red). Twenty-four acres, more or less, situate in the Ashburton District; bounded on the northward by Reserve 1633 (in red), on the westward by a line in continuation of the western boundary thereof, on the eastward by the road forming the eastern boundary of said
