PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the owners and occupiers
of land and householders in the
Educational District of St. Albans have
failed within the time limited for that pur-
pose by the Board of Education to contri-
bute and pay to the Provincial Treasurer
the amount fixed by the Board as the con-
tribution of the said district for school pur-
poses:
Now, therefore, I, WILLIAM ROLLESTON,
Superintendent of the Province of Canter-
bury, in pursuance of the powers vested in
me, and by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, do hereby declare
an uniform rate of sixpence in the Β£ to be
leviable within the said district under the
provisions of the 42nd section of "The
Education Ordinance, 1873," and I do
hereby appoint
DANIEL PYNE
as the person to whom the said rate shall be
paid.

this 9th day of November, one thou-
sand eight hundred and seventy-four.

THE following regulations for the con-
duct of Sports and Races within the
Christchurch Race Course having been
issued pursuant to "The Race Course Re-
serve Ordinance, Session XI, No. 7," and
approved of by His Honor the Superinten-
dent, are published for general information:
- The sums of money following shall be
payable and paid to the President of the
Canterbury Jockey Club for the admission
of persons, animals, and vehicles to the said
Race Course on the 10th, 11th and 13th
days of November, 1874, that is to say:
For each horseman ... 2s. 6d.
" vehicle drawn by one horse 5s.
" " " two horses 10s.
" " " three or more 20s.
" foot passenger ... 1s.
And no person, animal, or vehicle shall be
permitted to enter upon the said Race
Course without prepayment to the said Pre-
sident or some person to be appointed by
him for that purpose, of such sum or sums
of money as aforesaid.

No horseman will be allowed to galop
on any part of the said course. -
All persons refusing to conform to
these regulations or any of them shall be
forthwith removed from the said Race
Course.
