PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the owners and occupiers of land and householders in the Educational District of East Christchurch have failed, within the time limited for that purpose by the Board of Education, to contribute and pay to the Provincial Treasurer the amount fixed by the Board as the contribution of the said district for school purposes:

Now, therefore, I, WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance of the powers vested in me, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, do hereby declare an uniform rate of tenpence in the £ to be leviable within the said district under the provisions of the 42nd section of "The Education Ordinance, 1873," and I do hereby appoint

FRANCIS GEORGE PARRY LEACH

as the person to whom the said rate shall be paid.

Given under my hand at Christchurch, this 16th day of October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

PURSUANT to the provisions of "The Auctioneers' Ordinance, Session III, No. 3," I hereby give notice that the undermentioned persons have taken out Auctioneers' Licenses for the period ending 30th June, 1875:—

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has made the following Reserves temporarily under the 19th clause of the Waste Lands Regulations, viz.:—

No. 1767, (in red).—Ninety-four acres, more or less, situate in the Ashburton District, having 23 chains 60 links frontage to the road, forming the south-eastern boundary of section 16687, and extending south-easterly 40 chains in a rectangular block north-east of an adjoining section 21688.—For Provincial Government Purposes.

No. 1768, (in red).—Five acres two roods, more or less, situate in the Ashburton District, bounded on the north-west by the road forming the south-eastern boundary of Reserve No. 1416 (in red); on the south-west by the road forming the south-western boundary of the same Reserve; on the north-eastward by I. P. R. J. on run No. 139, and on the south-eastward by section No. 14857.—For Provincial Government Purposes.
