HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has appointed

JAMES GODFREY WARNER, ESQ., C.E.,

to be Railway Engineer for the Province of Canterbury.

His appointment to date from the 20th November, 1873.

PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Ordinance passed by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of Canterbury, intituled "The Canterbury Sheep Ordinance, 1872, Amendment Ordinance, 1874," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent from time to time, by Proclamation to be published in the Provincial Government Gazette, to appoint one or more place or places at or adjacent to the inland boundaries of the Province, at some one or other of which all places all sheep to be introduced by land into the Province shall be crossed over such boundaries :

Now, therefore, I, WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, do hereby under the authority aforesaid, proclaim and appoint the Hurunui Bridge and the Greta Crossing on the Hurunui River on the northern boundary of the said Province, and the Lower and Upper Ferries on the River Waitangi on the southern boundary of the said Province respectively, as places at which sheep may be introduced by land into the said Province, of Canterbury.

Given under my hand at Christchurch, this thirtieth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

I, JOHN CHARLES CROZIER DURHAM, Licentiate of Medicine, Licentiate of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, and Licentiate of Midwifery of the Coombe Lying-in Hospital, Dublin, have made application to be registered under the New Zealand Medical Act, and have deposited my diplomas with the Registrar in terms of said Act.
