"THE PROTECTION OF ANIMALS
ACT, 1873."
HIS Honor the Superintendent directs
it to be notified that he has, in pur-
suance of the powers delegated to him under
"The Protection of Animals Act, 1873,"
appointed the following persons to act as
Rangers within the Province of Canter-
bury:—

JAMES STORRY, jun., Southbridge.
ALEX. DUNBAR, jun., Lincoln Road.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it
to be notified that he has made the
following Reserves temporarily under the
19th clause of the Waste Lands Regulations,
viz.:—
No. 1676 (in red).—Ten acres, more or
less, situate in McQueen's Flat;
bounded on the north-westward by
the Little River Road; on the north-
eastward by section 12130; on the
south-southward by a line parallel to
the north-western boundary and ten
chains distant therefrom; and on the
south-westward by a line at right
angles to the last described boundary,
so as to contain the above quantity.
—For Provincial Government pur-
poses.
No. 1677 (in red).—Five acres, more or
less, situate at the centre point of
the Big Bay, near Kaituna; bounded
on the westward by the road reserved
along the high water line of Lake
Ellesmere, and also by the Little
River Road; on the southward by
the first mentioned road; on the
northward by the road forming the
south-western boundary of section
9250, and a line in continuation of
the southern side of that road; and
on the eastward by a line at right
angles to the northern boundary, so
as to include the above quantity.—
For metal reserve.
No. 1678 (in red).—Ten acres, more or
less, situate at Kaituna Point;
bounded on the north-westward by
the road reserved along the high
water line of Lake Ellesmere; on
the southward and south-eastward
by the Little River Road; and on
the north-eastward by a straight line
at right angles to the general direc-
tion of the south-eastern boundary,
so as to contain the above quantity.—
For metal reserve.
No. 1686 (in red).—Ten acres, more or
less, in the Lincoln district; bounded
on the south-eastward by section
2399; on the southward by section
2888; on the westward by the Little
River Road, and also by the road
forming the south-eastern boundary
of section 1348; and on the north-
east by a line at right angles to the
south-eastern boundary, so as to
contain the above quantity.—Reserve
for Road Board office and metal pur-
poses.
No. 1687 (in red).—Five acres, more or
less, situate in the Lincoln district,
bounded on the southward by section
20286; on the westward by the road
forming the western boundary of that
section; on the northward by a line
five chains distant from and parallel
to the southern boundary; and on the
eastward by a line at right angles to
the southern boundary, to include the
required quantity.—For metal re-
serve. Note. The above reserve is
within P.R. 280.
No. 1688 (in red).—Three acres, more or
less, situate at Kaituna; bounded on
the southward by the road forming
the southern boundary of section
13563; on the eastward by the
Kaituna River; on the north-west by
Kaituna Valley Road; and on the
north-east by a line at right angles
to the north-west boundary, to in-
clude the required quantity. Reserve
for Road Board purposes. Note.
The above reserve is within P.R. 165.
