an Educational District:
Now, therefore, I, WILLIAM ROLLESTON,
Superintendent of the said Province, in pur-
suance of the powers vested in me do hereby,
and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council, declare the portion of
the Province hereinafter described to be an
Educational District, with the name and
with the boundaries as are hereinafter set
forth :β
GERMAN BAY EDUCATIONAL DISTRICT.
Commencing at the north-west corner of
section 1897, following the northern
boundary of that section to the road;
following that road north-easterly to
the north-west corner of Reserve 77;
following the road, being the north-
ern boundaries of Reserve 77 and
Section 916, to the north-west corner
of section 7513; following the west
and south sides of that section to the
old German Bay road; thence south-
erly to the junction of the Long Bay
road, following the Long Bay road
to the saddle, the point being the
south corner of section 13571; thence
in a straight line to Mount Le Beau;
thence following the ridge to a point
bearing east from the north-east cor-
ner of section 8960; thence in a
straight line to the north-east corner
of the said section; thence following
the Duvauchelles Bay education dis-
trict boundary to the beach; thence
along the beach to the starting point.

PROCLAMATION,
WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the
Superintendent and Provincial Coun-
cil of the Province of Canterbury, intituled
"The Education Ordinance, 1873," it is
among other things provided that the
Superintendent may, under the provisions
of section 26 of the said Ordinance, declare
any portion of the Province not comprised
within the limits of any Educational District
to be an Educational District :
Now, therefore, I, WILLIAM ROLLESTON,
Superintendent of the said Province, in
pursuance of the powers vested in me, do
hereby, by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, declare the portion
of the Province hereinafter described to be
an Educational District, with the name and
with the boundaries as are hereinafter set

AKAROA EDUCATIONAL DISTRICT,
Commencing at the north-west corner of
Ohuku Native Reserve; thence along
the northern boundary of the said
Reserve to its north-east corner;
thence in a straight line to the south-
east corner of section 13813; thence
in a straight line to the south-east
corner of setion 13770; thence in a
straight line to the south-east corner
of section 14457; thence in a straight
line to the south corner of section
13571; thence along the German
Bay Education District boundary to
the beach; thence along the beach to
the starting point.

PROCLAMATION
Under "The Highway Boards Empowering
Act, 1871."
WHEREAS by "The Highway Boards
Empowering Act, 1871," it is (inter
alia) enacted that the Superintendent of any
Province upon the recommendation of the
Provincial Council may from time to time,
by Proclamation, declare that any or all of the
parts of the said Act numbered, two, three,
four, five, six, and seven, shall extend and
apply to any Highway District constituted
or to be constituted by or under any Pro-
vincial Act heretofore or hereafter to be
passed, or to the inhabitants, ratepayers, or
governing body of any such district as the
case may require, and upon such day as shall
be fixed in and by any such Proclamation
the part or parts therein specified shall be
in force and in as such to Highway District.
Now, therefore, I, WILLIAM ROLLESTON,
Superintendent of the Province of Canter-
bury, do hereby, upon the recommendation
of the Provincial Council of the said Pro-
vince, and by and with the advice and
consent of my Executive Council, declare
that the part of the said Act numbered
seven shall extend and apply to all the Road
Districts constituted or to be constituted
under "The Canterbury Roads Ordinance,
1872," and to the inhabitants, ratepayers,
and governing body of each such District
from and after this tenth day of June, One
thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.
