of the Province of Canterbury, in virtue of the powers in me vested
do hereby proclaim and declare that I have
assented, on behalf of the Governor, to
the following Ordinance passed by the
Provincial Council:—

"The Christchurch Stage Coach Ordinance, 1873."

Given under my hand at Christchurch,
this twenty-ninth day of November,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.

In pursuance of powers contained in
Clause 362 of "The Municipal Corporations’ Act, 1867," I hereby declare that
the Pound heretofore existing in Oxford
Street, Lyttelton, is abolished, and proclaim
the enclosure at the junction of London and
St. David Streets, to be the Public Pound
for the Lyttelton District.

The following is the Scale of Charges at
the Lyttelton Pound:—

CHARGES FOR FOOD.

For every horse, mare, gelding, mule,
ass, colt, filly, foal, or bull, steer,
heifer, or calf ... 1 0
For every sheep or lamb ... 0 1
" goat ... 0 2
" boar, sow, or pig ... 0 6

The above charges to be paid for each day
or part of a day during which the animal is
supplied with food and water by the Pound-keeper.

SCALE OF ORDINARY DAMAGES.

For every head of horses, asses, mules,
horned or neat cattle, the sum of three
pence; and for every sheep or goat, one
penny: Provided that in no case shall the
sum charged for ordinary damages for trespass by cattle upon any one occasion exceed
the sum of two pounds.

SALE OF TOWN AND RURAL LANDS.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that
the Sections of Land specified below
will be submitted to Public Auction, at the
Sitting of the Waste Lands Board to be
held at the Land Office, Christchurch, on
Wednesday, December 10, 1873, at Eleven
O’clock a.m., subject to the usual conditions
of sale, and in conformity with the regulations
for the disposal, sale, letting, and
occupation of the Waste Lands of the
Crown, now in force in the Province of
Canterbury.
