PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Canterbury, intituled "The Education Ordinance, 1873," it is among other things provided that the Superintendent may, under the provisions of Section 26 of the said Ordinance, declare any portion of the Province not comprised within the limits of any Educational District, to be an Educational District:

Now, therefore, I, RICHARD JAMES STRACHAN HARMAN, Deputy-Superintendent of the said Province, in pursuance of the powers vested in me, do hereby, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, declare the portion of the Province hereinafter described, to be an Educational District, with the name and boundaries as hereinafter set forth:

NAME OF DISTRICT BOUNDARIES
Kaiapoi Island, North Bounded on the north by the north branch of the Waimakariri; on the west and south by the Waimakariri and the Kaiapoi Island Educational District; on the east by the Kaiapoi Borough Educational District.

Given under my hand, at Christchurch, this first day of September, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.
