PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the eighth section of "The Canterbury Public Domains Act, 1872," it is enacted that the Superintendent of Canterbury, with the advice and consent of his Executive Council, may, by Proclamation under his hand from time to time, delegate all or any of the powers thereby conferred upon him acting as aforesaid to any person or persons for any period, and subject to such stipulations, conditions, and limitations as may be specified in such Proclamation:
Now therefore, I, William Rolleston, Superintendent as aforesaid, by and with the advice and consent of my Executive Council, do hereby delegate in respect of the lands contained in the Schedule hereto annexed, all the powers conferred by the said Act to the undermentioned persons, who shall be known as "The Kaiapoi Domain Board":

Edward George Kerr,
Robert Macfarlane,
Edward Thos. Revell,
Joseph Senior White,
William Wellington Willock,
subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained.

The Board shall meet at such times and places as shall be from time to time appointed by the Chairman, or when it shall be convened by him; and the business shall be conducted under such regulations as shall be determined on by the Board.

The Board shall keep proper minutes and records of its proceedings, and full accounts of its receipts and expenditure, and a yearly statement of the same, together with a general report of its proceedings, shall be forwarded to the Superintendent once in every year.

This delegation of powers to the Board shall not in any way affect any lease or contract now in force between the Superintendent and any person or persons in respect of any portion of the Reserve No. 1252 (in red) in the Schedule to "The Public Domains Ordinance, 1873," nor any agreement between the Superintendent and any person or persons in respect of the dedication of any portion of the said lands to any purpose of public recreation or amusement.

SCHEDULE.
Description of reserve No. 1252 (in red), being a site for a Public Recreation Ground and Racecourse:β
All that parcel of land in the Province of Canterbury, in the Colony of New Zealand, situate in the Malvern district, containing by admeasurement one hundred acres, more or less, commencing at a point on the north-eastern side of the Coal Tramway Reserve, the said point being the westernmost corner of section 143S1; thence north-westerly following the said reserve a distance of eleven chains sixty links; thence northerly following the road forming the eastern boundary of reserve No. 1248 (in red) thirty-four chains eleven links; thence easterly along the southern boundary of section No. 9256, a distance of twenty-seven chains seventy-five links to the high bank of an old river bed; thence south-easterly following the said high bank to a point in line with the north-western boundary of the said section No. 143S1, and from thence returning south-westerly along the said line and boundary forty-two chains ten links to the commencing point, and numbered 1252 (in red) on the map of the Chief Surveyor of the Province of Canterbury, setting out and describing the rural land in the Malvern district aforesaid.
