PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the owners and occupiers of land and householders in the Educational District of Stoke have failed within the time limited for that purpose by the Board of Education to contribute and pay to the Provincial Treasurer the amount fixed by the Board as the contribution of the said district for school purposes:

Now, therefore, I, WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance of the powers vested in me, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, do hereby declare a uniform rate of one penny half-penny in the pound to be leviable within the said district, under the provisions of the seventeenth section of “The Education Ordinance, 1871, Amendment Ordinance, 1872, No. 2,” and I do hereby appoint

JOHN CHARLES

as the person to whom the said rate shall be paid.

Given under my hand at Christchurch, this second day of May, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.

PROCLAMATION.

WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance of the powers vested in me by “The Canterbury Trespass of Cattle Ordinance, 1872,” and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, do hereby proclaim and declare that part of Reserve No. 743 (in red) in the Cust Road District, containing one acre (more or less), commencing at the north-east corner of the said reserve; thence westerly following the road forming the northern boundary thereof a distance of three chains, and extending southerly in a rectangular block three chains thirty-four links, being bounded on the eastward by the Mill Road, so as to contain the above quantity, shall be deemed and taken to be a Public Pound within the meaning of the above recited Ordinance, from and after Monday, the 26th day of May, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three; and I do hereby appoint

THOMAS O’FARRELL

to be Poundkeeper at the said Pound.

Given under my hand, and issued at Christchurch, this eighth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.
