PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS at a public meeting of persons duly qualified to vote in the Washdyke District, held on Wednesday, the 16th day of October, 1872, in the Common Hall of the New Zealand Meat Factory Company’s Works, it was declared by the votes of the majority of the persons present that they were willing that the District described in the Schedule hereto should be formed into an Educational District:
Now, therefore, I, WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance of the powers vested in me and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, do hereby proclaim the said District to be an Educational District within the meaning of “The Educational Ordinance, 1871.”
Given under my hand, at Christchurch, this 11th day of December, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

SCHEDULE.
WASHDYKE DISTRICT.
Commencing where the Tai tara Kihi Creek joins the sea; thence up the said creek to the road forming the western boundary of section 2282; thence along the latter road and the road south of section 2952 and 3751 westerly to the south-west corner of section 8756; thence following the western boundary of that section and a line in continuation thereof to the Washdyke Creek; and thence in a straight line north-westerly to the westernmost corner of section 7457; thence along the north-western boundary of that section to the Mackenzie Country Road; thence in a straight line easterly to the junction of the South Road with the road separating sections 14,476 and 14,561; thence following the latter road to the beach; and thence along the beach to the starting point.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has appointed the following places at which the Poll shall be taken at the Election of Members of the Road Boards of the undermentioned districts respectively, viz.:
