Re-opening a grave or vault

  1. The whole or a part of the foregoing costs or charges may be remitted on proof being given to the satisfaction of the Managers, or person deputed by them, that the person for whom application for interment is made was a pauper at the time of his or her death, and that there are not sufficient funds available for the purpose, and that no person is liable for the payment of such costs and charges.

  2. Orders for interment must be given twenty-four hours prior to the time fixed for the funeral, except in cases of epidemic diseases, when at least six working hours notice shall be given.

  3. The following particulars must accompany the order, viz.:—

    Name of deceased.
    Age.
    Size of coffin.
    Officiating Minister.
    Day and hour of funeral.
    If unpurchased ground.
    No. of plot (if private ground).
    Required depth (if more than 5 feet).

  4. The person having the management or control of the funeral must be prepared with the Registrar’s or Coroner’s certificate of death, to be handed to the Minister previous to the interment.

  5. The Managers will always be at liberty to abrogate, alter, or add to the present Regulations, as may be deemed advisable; such alterations to be published in the Provincial Government Gazette.
