WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance of the powers vested in me by "The Education Ordinance Amendment Ordinance, 1872," do hereby make and prescribe the following Regulations for the taking a Poll on the Election of Members of the School Committee of the Educational District of Lyttelton, and I do hereby appoint the Colonistsโ€™ Hall, at Lyttelton, as the place at which such Poll shall be opened and taken.

Given at Christchurch, this 28th day of March, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs the publication of the following Regulations for the taking a Poll on the Election of Members of the School Committee of the Educational District of Lyttelton:โ€”

The Officer appointed for the purpose, or one of his deputies appointed by writing under his hand, shall preside at each Polling Booth for taking the Poll in the district.

Each candidate shall be entitled to appoint, in writing, one agent, to be present in each Polling Booth.

The Officer presiding shall provide pencil or pens and ink and blotting paper in every Polling Booth for the use of the electors, and also a sufficient supply of blank forms of Voting Papers in the form shown in the Schedule attached, or to the like effect.

The Officer presiding shall deliver to any Voter who shall require the same, a Voting Paper as in the form shown in the Schedule attached.
