REPORT OF WORKS CONTRACTED FOR AND CARRIED OUT DURING THE PAST YEAR.

OPIIHI BRIDGE.

This work has been completed, at a cost in all of £2996 13s. 10d., of which the sum of £1068 has been expended during the past year.

A further contract was entered into on the 10th July, 1871, for the extension of this Bridge, at an estimated cost of £500, of which the sum of £371 4s. has been already expended. The contract will be finished in a few days.

RANGITATA BRIDGE.

This work has been proceeded with, and the sum of £15,213 9s. 10d. has been expended on it during the past year. The Engineer reports that the contract should be completed in three months.

LANDING SERVICE AND HARBOUR WORKS.

The contract for repair to the Foreshore and Landing Service has been completed at a cost of £830 11s.

TEMUKA COURT HOUSE.

The contract for this work, from plans by the Provincial Engineer, was taken on the 7th June, 1871. It has been completed at a cost of £190 7s. 6d.
