PROCLAMATION.
I, WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me under the 30th clause of "The Education Ordinance, 1871," and upon the recommendation of the Board of Education, do hereby proclaim and declare that the Districts described in the Schedule hereto shall be Educational Districts under the provisions of the said Ordinance.
Given at Christchurch this Seventh day of September, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-one.

SCHEDULE.
AKAROA DISTRICT.
Bounded on the northward by a straight line drawn through Trig. Pole 17 to the road which passes through section 922, and also by the continuation of that road to the ridge of hills round Akaroa Harbour; on the eastward by the said ridge of hills; on the westward by Akaroa Harbour; and on the southward by the Onuku Native reserve and a line in continuation of the northern boundary of the said reserve to the ridge of the hills before mentioned.
ASHLEY BANK DISTRICT.
Bounded on the southward by the River Ashley; on the westward by the Makerikiri; on the northward by a line drawn through Trig. Poles 2 and 3a, and a line from Trig. Pole 3a to the northernmost corner of section 2885; thence by Stony Creek to where it is intersected by the southern side of the Upper Sefton road; thence by that road to the road on the north-east side of section 2137; thence by that road and the road on the west side of section 1976, to the River Ashley aforesaid.
LEITHFIELD DISTRICT.
Bounded on the eastward by the sea; on the north-eastward by the gully running through section 2758 to the North road; thence by a right line to the south-east corner of section 2883; thence along the road to the south side of said section to the Railway reserve; thence by that reserve southerly to the southern bank of the South Kowai, following westerly along the said bank to the north-west corner of section 3984, following south-easterly along the road forming the south-western boundary of that section to the terrace road, following along the Brownβs Bridge road to the North road; thence by that road to the road south of Trig. Pole 7 running to the beach, and thence by the last mentioned road to the sea.
