  1. All the premises to be kept in good repair. To provide in his house, besides the
    taproom, or room answering as such, one
    public and one private sitting-room.
  2. To provide not less than three beds for
    travellers, in not less than two separate bed-
    rooms.
  3. To provide a shed sufficiently weather-
    tight, and fit for the accommodation of at
    least three horses.

    travellers, in not less than four separate bed-
    rooms.

LITTLECOT, CHARLES—SELWYN.

  1. All the premises to be kept in good re-
    pair. To provide in his house, besides the
    taproom or room answering as such, one
    public and one private sitting-room, and one
    ladies’ room.
  2. To provide not less than eight beds for
    travellers, in not less than five separate bed-
    rooms.
  3. To provide a shed sufficiently weather-
    tight, and fit for the accommodation of at
    least four horses.
  4. At all times to keep a proper supply
    of water for the house, and for horses and
    cattle.
    Condition 5, same as Birdling’s.
    6 and 7, Nil.
    8 and 9, same as Birdling’s.
    10 and 11, same as Birdling’s.
    12. Officers of the Supreme Court, Magis-
    trates, and police constables on duty, and
    prisoners, to be ferried over free of charge.
    To afford every assistance in his power in
    directing strangers to a safe fording across
    the river, and to keep a horse and man ready,
    when necessary, to help passengers across.
    13, 14, and 15, same as Birdling’s.

M’DOUGALL, DUNCAN—RAKAIA
FERRY (UPPER).

  1. All the premises to be kept in good
    repair. To provide in his house, besides the
    taproom, or room answering as such, one
    public and one private sitting-room.
  2. To provide not less than seven beds for
    travellers, in not less than four separate bed-
    rooms.
  3. To provide a shed sufficiently weather-
    tight, and fit for the accommodation of at
    least four horses.

    as Adams’.

    Conditions 13, 14, and 15, same as Adams’.

NEILSON, LAURETZ—PORTER’S PASS.

  1. All the premises to be kept in good
    repair.
  2. To provide not less than six beds for
    travellers, in not less than two separate bed-
    rooms.
  3. To provide a shed sufficiently weather-
    tight, and fit for the accommodation of at
    least six horses.
  4. At all times to keep a proper supply of
    water for the house, and for horses and
    cattle.
  5. To keep at all times a proper supply of
    oats and oaten or grass hay. Oats to be
    charged for to travellers at not more than 6d
    per quart, and to be always served out with
    the authorised quart measure.
    6 and 7, Nil.
    8, 9, 10, and 11, same as Birdling’s.
    12. Nil.
    13, 14, and 15, same as Birdling’s.

POWER, WILLIAM—BEALEY RIVER,
WEST COAST ROAD.
