absent himself from his duty, shall forfeit and pay the sum of twenty pounds for every such act; and every person who shall assist or procure any person in Her Majesty’s Navy to desert, or improperly absent himself from his duty, or shall conceal, employ, or continue to employ any person belonging to Her Majesty’s Navy who shall be a Deserter or improperly absent from his duty, knowing him to be such a Deserter or so improperly absent, shall forfeit and pay the sum of Thirty Pounds for every such assistance, procurement, concealment, employment, or continuing of employment, as aforesaid.


MARINE DESERTION.

32 Vict., cap. 5, sec. 54.

“Any person who shall, in any part of Her Majesty’s dominions, by any means whatsoever, directly or indirectly, procure any Marine to desert or absent himself from his duty without leave from his Commanding Officer, or attempt to procure or persuade any Marine to desert or absent himself from his duty, and any person who, knowing that any Marine is absent from his duty without leave from his Commanding Officer, shall harbour or conceal such Marine, or aid or assist such Marine in concealing himself, or aid and assist in his rescue, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanour, and shall, on conviction thereof before any two Justices acting for the county, district, city, borough, or place where any such offender shall at any time happen to be, be liable to be committed to the Common Gaol or House of Correction, there to be Imprisoned, with or without hard labour, for such term not exceeding Six Calendar Months as the convicting Justices shall think fit.”


NOTICE.

NOTICE is hereby given that the partnership heretofore existing between us, the undersigned, as Livery Stable-keepers has this day been dissolved by mutual consent.
