PURSUANT to the provisions of the
"Auctioneers' Ordinance, Session
III., No. 3," I hereby give notice that the
undermentioned person has taken out an
Auctioneers' License for the term ending
30th June, 1871:β€”

PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the
Superintendent and Provincial Council
of the Province of Canterbury, entitled
"The Roads Ordinance, 1869," it is inter
alia enacted that if at any time the Rate-
payers of a district shall refuse or neglect
to elect Members of the Board, or if the
Members of the Board shall refuse or neglect
to carry the said Ordinance into operation,
the Superintendent, with the advice of the
Executive Council, by Proclamation in the
Provincial Government Gazette, shall declare
the powers of such Board to be suspended,
and shall, by Proclamation, appoint a Com-
missioner for such district, and thereupon
all the powers, rights, privileges, and duties
of such Board shall from the date of such
Proclamation vest in and be exercised by
such Commissioner on behalf of the Board:

And whereas the Road Board for the Mal-
vern District has neglected to carry out the
provisions of the said Ordinance:

Now, therefore, I, ROBERT HEATON
RHODES, Deputy-Superintendent of the Pro-
vince of Canterbury, in pursuance and exer-
cise of the powers vested in me, and with
the advice of the Executive Council, do
hereby proclaim the powers of the said Road
Board to be suspended, and I appoint

THOMAS H. ANSON,
of Mount Torlesse, to be the Commissioner
for the said district.

Given under my hand, at Christchurch,
this Fourth day of August, One thousand eight hundred and
seventy.

Published in pursuance of Diseased Cattle
Acts.

WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superin-
tendent of the Province of Canter-
bury, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers delegated to me under "The Diseased Cattle Act, 1861," and "The Diseased Cattle Act Amendment Act, 1865,"
do hereby appoint

ERNEST ALFRED SHRIMPTON,
to be an Inspector under the said Acts.

This appointment to take effect from and
after the day following the date of publica-
tion in the New Zealand Gazette.

Given under my hand, this Twentieth
day of July, One thousand eight hundred and seventy.
