  1. All the premises to be kept in good repair. To provide in his house besides the taproom or room answering as such, one public and one private sitting-room.

  2. To provide not less than six beds for travellers, in not less than three separate bed-rooms.

  3. To provide a shed sufficiently weathertight and fit for the accommodation of at least six horses.

4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11, same as Birdling’s.

  1. Nil.

HARRIS, FREDK.—CASTLE HILL.

  1. All the premises to be kept in good repair. To provide in his house, besides the tap-room, or room answering as such, one public and one private sitting-room.

  2. To provide not less than seven beds for travellers, in not less than four separate bed-rooms.

  3. To provide a shed sufficiently weathertight, and fit for the accommodation of at least four horses.

Conditions 4, 5, and 6, same as Birdling’s.

  1. Nil.

Conditions 8, 9, 10, and 11, same as Birdling’s.

  1. Nil.

Conditions 13, 14, and 15, same as Birdling’s.


IRVINE, JOHN—BURNHAM.

  1. All the premises to be kept in good repair. To provide in his house, besides the tap-room or room answering as such, one public and one private sitting-room.

  2. To provide not less than six beds for travellers, in not less than three separate bed-rooms.

  3. To provide a shed sufficiently weathertight and fit for the accommodation of at least six horses.

4 and 5, same as Birdling’s.

LAWRENCE, WILLIAM—RAILWAY STATION, SELWYN.

  1. All the premises to be kept in good repair. To provide in his house, besides the taproom or room answering as such, one public and one private sitting-room.

  2. Nil.

  3. To provide a shed sufficiently weathertight, and fit for the accommodation of at least six horses.

  4. At all times to keep a proper supply of water for the house, and for horses and cattle.

  5. To keep at all times a proper supply of oats and oaten or grass hay. Oats to be charged for to travellers at not more than 6d per quart, and to be always served out with the authorised quart measure.

6 and 7. Nil.

  1. To keep a lamp burning with two burners from sunset to sunrise, giving a sufficiently bright light, and being so lighted as to be conspicuous from a distance all round the house.

9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15. Nil.


LAWRENCE, STEPHEN—SHAND’S TRACK.

  1. All the premises to be kept in good repair. To provide in his house besides the taproom or room answering as such, one public and one private sitting-room, and one ladies’ room.

  2. To provide not less than eight beds for travellers in not less than five separate bed-rooms.

  3. To provide a shed sufficiently weathertight and fit for the accommodation of at least two horses.

  4. At all times to keep a proper supply of water for the house and for horses and cattle, and to provide in a convenient position a proper trough for watering cattle.

  5. To keep at all times a proper supply of oats and oaten or grass hay. Oats to be charged for to travellers at not more than sixpence per quart, and to be always served out with the authorised quart measure.

  6. To provide and keep in repair a good and sufficient paddock for horses containing a superficial area of not less than four acres. For the occupation of this paddock during the night the Licensee may make a charge at the rate not exceeding the following, viz.—One shilling for each horse.

  7. Nil.

8, 9, 10 and 11, same as Birdling’s.

  1. Nil.

13, 14 and 15, same as Birdling’s.


INNES, JAMES—TEMPLETON.

  1. All the premises to be kept in good repair. To provide in his house, besides the tap-room or room answering as such, one public and one private sitting-room.

  2. To provide not less than twelve beds for travellers, in not less than eight separate bed-rooms.

  3. To provide a shed sufficiently weathertight, and fit for the accommodation of at least twelve horses.

  4. At all times to keep a proper supply of water for the house and for horses and cattle.

Conditions 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11, same as Birdling’s.

  1. Nil.

Conditions 13, 14, and 15, same as Birdling’s.


McDOUGALL, DUNCAN—RAKAIA FERRY (UPPER).

  1. All the premises to be kept in good repair. To provide in his house, besides the taproom, or room answering as such, one public and one private sitting-room.

  2. To provide not less than seven beds for travellers in not less than four separate bed-rooms.

  3. To provide a shed sufficiently weathertight, and fit for the accommodation of at least four horses.

Conditions 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 same as Adams’.

JONES, JOSEPH—RAILWAY STATION, CHRISTCHURCH.

  2. To provide not less than six beds for travellers, in not less than two separate bed-rooms.
