NOTICE.

HIS Honor the Superintendent, in pursuance of the powers vested in him by the 13th clause of "The Public House Ordinance, 1866," has granted the following Licences; the applications for which were referred to him from the Resident Magistrate’s Court, Lyttelton, owing to there not having been a quorum of Justices present at the adjourned Annual Licensing Meeting on the 24th May, 1870.

Edward William Roper, Hotel Licence.
William Johnson, Hotel Licence.
David Lazarus, Wine and Beer Licence.
Edward Buckingham, Conditional Licence.

KAIAPOI BAR.

IT is hereby notified for the information of Mariners, that on and after Thursday next, June 9, 1870, the New Zealand Code of Tidal and Bar Signals will be exhibited on a Mast erected on the South side of the Waimakariri.

The Bar or Danger Signals will only be made in respect to Vessels inward bound, and should the signal be intended to apply to Steamers only, a Blue Peter will be kept hoist at the Mast-head until the Bar Signals are changed for Vessels under sail alone.

The Masters of Outward Bound Vessels will be piloted by the Semaphore Arms, always providing they are not in use directing a Vessel crossing the bar inwards.
