ANNUAL REPORT

OF THE

BOARD OF EDUCATION,

FOR THE

YEAR ENDING MARCH, 1869.

To His Honor THE SUPERINTENDENT.

Sir,

The Board of Education has the honour to present its Annual Report for the year 1868-9, according to the terms of "The Education Ordinance, 1864."

The periodical reports of the Inspector of Schools to be found in the Appendix, will afford general information as to the efficiency of the Schools, and their progress during the past year.

STATISTICS.

The total number of Schools in receipt of aid from the Board, is 59, of these, three are Superior Schools.

Of the Ordinary Schools, Governor’s Bay North, Flaxton, Southbridge, Springston, Mount Grey Downs, and Loburn Schools, have, since the date of the last Report, been established in regularly constituted Educational Districts.
