The month opened with two days of magnificent weather, but rain fell on the 3rd, 5th, and on the evening of the 6th. On the latter occasion a very heavy fall took place... 250 inches in eighteen minutes... accompanied by distant thunder. The 15th, 18th, and 19th were also showery; otherwise a
