PROVINCE OF CANTERBURY.

Vol. XVI. SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 1869. No. XXXVII.

PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, passed in the Twenty-second year of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, entitled "The Provincial Reserved Bills Act, 1858," it was enacted that whenever any Bill shall have been passed by the Provincial Council of any Province, and shall have been reserved by the Superintendent for the signification of the Governor’s pleasure thereon, such Bill shall not have any force or authority within the said Province until the Superintendent shall signify either by speech or message to the Provincial Council, or by Proclamation in the Government Gazette of the said Province, that such Bill has been laid before the Governor, and that the Governor has assented to the same:

And whereas the following Bills: that is to say the Bills entitled respectively

"The Sheep Ordinance 1864, Amendment Ordinance, 1869,"

"The Trespass of Cattle Ordinance, 1869,"

"The Fencing Ordinance, 1869,"

"The Roads Ordinance, 1869,"

were passed by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Canterbury, and the same were reserved by the Superintendent of the said Province for the assent of the Governor:

Now therefore I, WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superintendent as aforesaid, do hereby proclaim and declare that the aforesaid Bills have been laid before the Governor, and that the Governor has assented to the same.

Given under my hand at Christchurch this Fourth day of September, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.

LANE v. FRANKS.

WRIT OF FI. FA.

WHEREAS I the undersigned Alexander Back Sheriff of the Canterbury District of New Zealand have taken in execution and levied upon the real estate and lands hereinafter described of Francis William Franks of the City of Christchurch in the Province of Canterbury in the Canterbury District of the Colony of New Zealand Baker under and by virtue of writ of Fieri Facias for the sum of Seventy-three Pounds Seventeen Shillings and Ninepence Halfpenny with the interest upon the said sum at the rate of Eight Pounds for every One Hundred Pounds by the year from the Twenty-eighth day of June One thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine besides Sheriff’s Poundage Officer’s Fees and all other incidental expenses and costs issued
