SALE OF TOWN & RURAL LANDS.
HIS Honor the Deputy-Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has fixed Thursday, the Twenty-third day of September, 1869, at the hour of noon, at a sitting of the Waste Lands Board, in the Land Office, at Christchurch, as the time and place when a sale by auction of Town and Rural Land shall take place in accordance with clause 24 and clause 85 of the Waste Lands Regulations, subject to the usual conditions of sale, and in conformity with the Regulations for the disposal, sale, letting, and occupation of the Waste Lands of the Crown now in force within the Province of Canterbury.
Applications will be received by the Waste Lands Board on and up to Thursday, the Ninth day of September, 1869.
Also, at the same time and place, will be submitted to public auction, at an upset price of Two Pounds per acre, the Little River Timber Reserves, containing 750 acres, in blocks Nos. 1 to 31 inclusive, averaging 20 acres each.
The terms and conditions of sale, together with a map showing the blocks, can be seen at the Survey Office, Christchurch.
Applications will be received at any sitting of the Waste Lands Board previous to Monday, the 20th September next.

HIS Honor the Deputy-Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has made the following Reserves, temporarily, under the 19th clause of the Waste Lands Regulations, viz.:
No. 1108, in red.—Four hundred and forty-four acres, more or less, situate in the Ashburton District, bounded on the north-east by the River Hinds; on the north-west by sections Nos. 8001, 8002, and lines in continuation of their south-eastern boundary; on the south-east by the road forming the south-east boundary of section 11,089; and on the south-west by a line at right angles to the aforesaid road, so as to contain the above quantity, save and except section No. 8003. As an endowment for an Orphan Asylum.
No. 1109, in red.—Nine hundred and six acres, more or less, situate in the Ashburton District, bounded on the north-west by I.P. & C. 2, on run No. 247, and also by the road forming the south-eastern boundary of section 11,089; on the north-east by the River Hinds, and a straight line drawn at right angles to the road forming the north-western boundary of section 11,420, so as to meet the easternmost corner of the pre-emptive right above mentioned; on the south...
