to be a Commissioner of the Waste Lands Board.

NOTICE TO PERSONS EMPLOYED ON THE RAILWAYS.
HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that, from and after Saturday next, the 12th inst., persons employed on the Railways will be required to report to and receive directions and instructions from the Secretary for Railways.

PROCLAMATION.
I William Rolleston, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance of the powers vested in me in that behalf, do hereby appoint the undermentioned Quarantine Station for the Port of Timaru, viz.:
All that portion of the General Government Reserve commencing at the south-east corner of town section No. 128, following a line bearing east magnetic to the beach at low-water spring-tide; then following the beach at low-water spring-tide to the Town Reserve; then following the boundary of the Town Reserve to the starting point.
Also all that portion of the Harbour of Timaru contained within two straight lines bearing from the northernmost corner of the General Government Reserve north north east and east respectively, and the arc of a circle of a mile, and a half radius, described around the said point as a centre.
Given under my hand at Christchurch this Twenty-fifth day of May, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.

REGULATIONS OF THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF TIMARU
Made under the third provision of the second sub-division of the seventh part of the thirteenth Schedule to “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1867,” and also under the second provision of the first sub-division of the eighth part of the thirteenth Schedule to the said Act.
In pursuance of section one hundred and ninety-two, part thirteen, of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1867,” the Council of the Borough of Timaru make the following Regulations, (that is to say):
III.—REGULATION FOR DEPOSIT, &C., OF INFLAMMABLE MATERIALS.
- That it shall not be lawful to make or keep any stack of hay, corn, straw, or other produce of an inflammable nature within the
