His Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that the Public Offices will be closed on Good Friday; on Saturday, the 27th inst.; and on Easter Monday and Tuesday.

PROCLAMATION
By His Honor William Rolleston, Esq, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, altering the boundaries of the Courtenay Educational District.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Canterbury, entitled “The Educational Ordinance Amendment Ordinance, 1865,” it is among other things provided that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, for the time being, from time to time to change or alter the boundaries of any and every Educational District proclaimed under the authority of “The Education Ordinance, 1864:”
And whereas on the Tenth day of September, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-six, the Courtenay Educational District was proclaimed under the authority of the said Ordinance:
And whereas it is desirable to alter the boundaries of the said district:
Now therefore, I, William Rolleston, Superintendent of the Province aforesaid, do hereby in pursuance of the powers so vested in me, proclaim that the boundaries of the Courtenay Educational District shall be as follows:
Bounded on the east by a line commencing at a point on the southern bank of the River Waimakariri, in a line with the north-western corner of section 3802; thence continuing the said line southerly along the western boundary of the said section; thence crossing the road at the south of this section, and continuing the line along the western boundary of section 3801; thence in a straight line to the north-western corner of section 8751; thence southerly along the western boundaries of this latter section, and of sections 9204, 9170, and 9089, to the south-western corner of the latter section; thence easterly along its southern boundary to the road lying
