PROCLAMATION.
By His Honor William Rolleston, Esq.,
Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, altering the boundaries of the Leeston Educational District.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance enacted by the Superintendent, and Provincial Council of Canterbury, entitled “The Education Ordinance, Amendment Ordinance, 1865,” it is, among other things, provided that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, for the time being, from time to time to change or alter the boundaries of any and every Educational District, proclaimed under the authority of “The Education Ordinance, 1864.”
And whereas on the First day of April, One thousand eight hundred and sixty seven, the Leeston Educational District was proclaimed under the authority of the said Ordinance; and whereas it is desirable to alter the boundaries of the said district.
Now therefore, I, William Rolleston, Superintendent of the Province aforesaid, do hereby, in pursuance of the powers vested in me, proclaim that the boundaries of the Leeston Educational District, shall be as follows:—Bounded on the east by Lake Ellesmere; on the north-east by Hanmer’s Road to its junction with the Ellesmere and Lincoln Road; thence south-westerly along the latter road to the south-west corner of section 6046; thence north-westerly along the southern boundaries of sections 6046, 6137, 5851, 7243, 7942; and in a straight line from the western corner of the latter section to the eastern corner of section 8431; thence north-westerly along the road between sections 8431 and 9013, to its junction with the road between sections 9933 and 10,577; thence north-westerly along this latter road to its junction with the road forming the western boundary of section 9798; thence southerly along this road to the junction of the roads at the eastern corner of section 9715; thence along the road between sections 6931 and 6350 to the crossing of the said road by the tramway close to tramway reserve 315; on the west by the tramway to reserve 315; thence by the road from said reserve to junction of Harman’s road and Tamutu and Bridge’s Road; on the south by the Tamutu and Bridge’s Road; thence by Hart’s Road to Reserve 208, close to White’s timber yard. Both the reserves to be within the boundaries of the district.

PROCLAMATION.

Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Canterbury, entitled “The Education Ordinance, 1864,” it is, among other things, enacted that whenever the Board of Education shall call by advertisement a public meeting of owners and occupiers of land and householders in any district, and such meeting shall declare by the votes of the majority of the persons present (being such owners and occupiers of land and householders as aforesaid), that they are willing that the said district be formed into an Educational District under the provisions of the said Ordinance, and shall declare their willingness to provide the proportion of the annual expenses of an Educational District, the Superintendent shall, as soon as conveniently may be, by Proclamation in the Provincial Government Gazette, declare such district to be an Educational District under the said Ordinance, and such district shall thereupon become an Educational District accordingly.
And whereas at a meeting duly called as aforesaid, and held at the Church and School, South Selwyn, on Tuesday, the Fifteenth day of December last, the owners and occupiers of land and householders in the district specified in the Schedule hereto annexed, did by the votes of the majority there present, declare that they were willing that the said district should be formed into an Educational District, and further declare their willingness to provide the proportion of the annual expenses of an Educational District, as provided in the said Ordinance.
Now therefore, I, William Rolleston, Superintendent of the said Province, in pursuance of the power in me vested by the said in part recited Ordinance, do hereby proclaim that the district specified in the Schedule hereto annexed shall be an Educational District within the meaning of the said Ordinance.

SOUTH SELWYN EDUCATIONAL DISTRICT.
Commencing at the point where the Ellesmere and Lincoln Road crosses the river Selwyn; thence south-westerly along such road to the southern corner of section 6046; thence north-westerly along the southern boundaries of sections 6046, 6137, 5851, 7243, 7942, and in a straight line from the western corner of the latter section to the eastern corner of section 8431; thence north-westerly along the road between sections 8431 and 9013, to its junction with the road between sections 9933 and 10,577; thence north-westerly along this latter road to its junction with the road between sections 9580 and 9597; thence westerly along this latter road to its junction with the Selwyn and Rakaia road; thence north-easterly along this latter road to the point where it crosses the River Selwyn; thence following the course of the river to the starting point.
