Christchurch, Feb. 6, 1868.

HIS Honor the Superintendent, in pursuance of certain powers vested in him by “The Empowering Ordinance, Session II., No. 2,” directs it to be notified that the Footpaths hereinafter described having been well and sufficiently made and completed for the use and accommodation of foot passengers, according to the provisions of “The Footpaths Ordinance, Session VII., No. 12,” are hereby declared to be public footpaths, and from and after the date hereof shall be deemed and taken accordingly to be public footpaths within the meaning of the said Ordinance.

The said footpaths are as follows:—

  • Lichfield Street—North side from Barbadoes street to the East Town Belt.
  • Hereford Street—South side from Madras street to the East Town Belt.
  • Hereford Street—North side from Madras street to the East Town Belt.
  • St. Asaph Street—South side from Antigua street to the Lincoln road.
  • St. Asaph Street—North side from Antigua street to the Lincoln road.
  • St. Asaph Street—North side from Montreal street to Antigua street.
  • St. Asaph Street—North side from the Ferry road to Barbadoes street.
  • St. Asaph Street—South side from the Ferry road to Barbadoes street.
  • Salisbury Street—South side from Durham street to the Papanui road.
  • Salisbury Street—North side from Durham street to the Papanui road.
  • Durham Street—East side from Tuam street to the South Town Belt.
  • Durham Street—West side from Tuam street to the South Town Belt.

NATIVE LANDS COURT.

NOTICE OF TIMES AND PLACES FOR INVESTIGATING CLAIMS.

NOTICE is hereby given that the claims, on behalf of themselves and others, of the several persons whose names are mentioned in the first column of the Schedule hereunder written, to the several blocks of land, of which the names and localities are mentioned in the second column, the boundaries of which are published in the Kahiti o Niu Tireni, will be investigated at Christchurch, Canterbury, on the Twentieth day of April next, and following days.
