ADDRESS

OF

HIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT

ON

PROROGUING THE THIRTIETH SESSION OF THE PROVINCIAL COUNCIL OF CANTERBURY.

Mr. Speaker and Gentlemen—

In closing the present session, I have to thank you for the close attention you have bestowed upon the business which has been submitted to you.

I am advised that there are objections to “the Fencing Ordinance” and the “Trespass of Cattle Ordinance,” which render it necessary that I should, for the present, withhold my assent from those Bills. I propose, however, to bring under your attention the subjects to which they refer, as well as the suggestions of the Select Committee on the Roads Ordinances, prior to the sitting of the General Assembly of the Colony.

Vol. XV., No. 59.
