ADDRESS
OF
HIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT
ON
OPENING THE TWENTY-NINTH SESSION OF THE PROVINCIAL COUNCIL.
MR. SPEAKER AND GENTLEMEN—
I have found it necessary to call you together on the present occasion for the transaction of important business, which I consider could not, without disadvantage, be postponed till after the session of the General Assembly of the Colony.
As that body meets on the 9th of this month, and the interests of the Province require that several of the Members of the Provincial Council should immediately proceed to Wellington, I trust that you will be able to conclude during the next week the business which will be submitted to you.
