The following Regulations for the guidance of Thistle Inspectors, are published in pursuance of Clause 6 of “The Thistle Ordinance, 1866” —
REGULATIONS.

Every Inspector is to be responsible for the due carrying out of the provisions of “The Thistle Ordinance, 1866,” in the district for which he is appointed.

To furnish Weekly Reports to the Secretary for Public Works, accompanied by a Diary, showing the manner in which he has been employed during the week, and a statement of any expenses incurred by him during such period, for labour employed or otherwise.

To provide himself with a suitable implement with which to eradicate any Thistles he may meet with on Roads, Government Reserves, and Waste Lands of the Crown.

The Inspector may employ additional labour in the eradication of Thistles growing in such localities: Provided they exist in such quantities as to render it impossible for him unaided to prevent some from becoming ripe and shedding their seed.

SALE OF TOWN AND RURAL LANDS.
His Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has fixed THURSDAY, the Thirteenth day of February, 1868, at the hour of noon, at a sitting of the Waste Lands Board, in the Land Office at Christchurch, as the time and place when a Sale by Auction of Town and Rural Land shall take place in accordance with Clause 24, and Clause 35 of the Waste Lands Regulations, subject to the usual conditions of sale, and in conformity with the Regulations for the disposal, sale, letting, and occupation of the Waste Lands of the Crown, now in force within the Province of Canterbury.
Applications will be received by the Waste Lands Board on and up to Thursday, the Thirtieth day of January, 1868.
